Peril bike equipe

Bill Bragg's contribution to making Triumphs faster cannot be underestimated.
He must rank along with Bert Munro as one of the great shed builders.
I had the luck of seeing all three bikes in Maitland Racing when Tony Huck had them in for restoration.
Bragg a cabinet maker from London got into straight line racing after a bad crash.
He experimented unsuccessfully with a twin engined bike,Some say he was the first to do so ,certainly in the UK.

Read some more here and at the same time discover the joys of the Bike Exif site
Peter Crane( the first man outside of the US to go sub 6secs in a top fuel dragster) on Silver Peril.Sadly this one has not been found

Cool or what!?

I wouldn't like to be the arbitrator in a debate of what is cool or not but the following would go a long way in helping define it

If  Tom Mellor's record breaking Triumph Trident (180.317 mph for the record) is not enough he tows it onto the Salt with this....

LONGSUE

Denver came by on his return from Florida with a box of goodies for my LONGSUE bobber build, this is a build that's been on my mind for a while, well since I bought a 6T pre unit engine on impulse!! There is now also a gearbox and a front frame loop so it was time to get the rest, there was suppose to be a David Bird rear loop but that is another story that hopefully will be resolved soon !! In the meantime this brought a smile to my face!! cheers Denver

Mooneyes oil tank, Cleveland Cycleworks Narrow alien tank,Rich Phillips snub nose leather seat,Biltwell seat hinge,Monstercraftman chain tensioner, headlight and nice rear light with chrome grill.
Thanks to Joe @Choppedtriumphs for taking delivery and getting all this stuff to the right place on time and being a stand up guy helping a fellow biker.Take the time to check out his site for the best pre unit ribbed engine mounts
Even got the Mrs a treat and thank you for letting me name the bike after her.

What to believe or not

Spent too much time trawling the internet looking up the Bobby SirKegian bikes and it seems increasingly probable that they are not what we are told they are. There is apparently no doubt about the man him self's racing pedigree as that is a matter of record (please say it is!) but as for the pedigree of the bikes I'm starting to wonder. It seems that there has been some doubt as to whether the bikes offered are true restorations or in fact replicas for some time check out the SHOW & GO CYCLE SHOP posting from back in 2009 and from the same period NOSTALGIA ON WHEELS points out that the seats are re-pops.
I have no issue with the idea of building replicas or bikes influenced by the past but then offer them as that and not some racing pedigree piece of history at a hugely inflated price.
I would quite happily be seen riding any of those bikes as I like the styling on them, I just don't like the idea of fakery! On the other hand if people out there are willing to pay the prices that these apparently went for so be it

welding and fabrication course coming to an end

Have spent this year doing a Welding and Fabrication course at
the College of North West London.
Here are the results of the practical part of the course

Can't wait to get this home and put some tools in it!!

That was my first go at oxy-acetylene .cleaned up nice!

The two welding test pieces for MIG & MMA.
Made up of a T fillet, a V butt & an outside corner.
It's been hard work getting to this stage with just over
                                                         2 hours a week
I'm quite pleased with results in the end
Passed the written paper on Monday.
I'm hoping that next year they will run a Machining
course that fits in with work.
All very basic I know but we all start somewhere!!
