What to believe or not
Spent too much time trawling the internet looking up the Bobby SirKegian bikes and it seems increasingly probable that they are not what we are told they are. There is apparently no doubt about the man him self's racing pedigree as that is a matter of record (please say it is!) but as for the pedigree of the bikes I'm starting to wonder. It seems that there has been some doubt as to whether the bikes offered are true restorations or in fact replicas for some time check out the SHOW & GO CYCLE SHOP posting from back in 2009 and from the same period NOSTALGIA ON WHEELS points out that the seats are re-pops.
I have no issue with the idea of building replicas or bikes influenced by the past but then offer them as that and not some racing pedigree piece of history at a hugely inflated price.
I would quite happily be seen riding any of those bikes as I like the styling on them, I just don't like the idea of fakery! On the other hand if people out there are willing to pay the prices that these apparently went for so be it

welding and fabrication course coming to an end
Have spent this year doing a Welding and Fabrication course at
the College of North West London.
Here are the results of the practical part of the course
Can't wait to get this home and put some tools in it!!
That was my first go at oxy-acetylene .cleaned up nice!
The two welding test pieces for MIG & MMA.
Made up of a T fillet, a V butt & an outside corner.
It's been hard work getting to this stage with just over
2 hours a week
I'm quite pleased with results in the end
Passed the written paper on Monday.
I'm hoping that next year they will run a Machining
course that fits in with work.
All very basic I know but we all start somewhere!!

Futura drag bike
- aluminum spun wheels (industrial plumbing flanges) and a space age mega-capacity gas tank (vintage flashlight). Solid aluminum bicycle crank arms and vintage tennis racket press parts handle the suspension duties up front and a set a fender supports lifted of a Harley Davidson take care of the "south end". An ice cream scoop fairing, old golf pull cart leg frame and a "blown" chainsaw monster motor round out this package.
Some Friday art by Lockwasher over on the Jockey Journal..NICE!!
